I'm working on a pilot for a reality show right now. Its called
"clock." There are 24 episodes, each an hour long - and follows the
clock during the course of one day.
In hour three, the clock starts to sing against the other clocks in the room.
In hour five, the clock is dropped in a pit of live cockroaches.
In
hour eight, the secret agency that owns the clock kills the clock's
lover (because said lover finds out that said clock is owned by said
secret agency).
In hour twelve, the clock is dropped on a deserted island and is forced to survive with a bunch of other stranded clocks.
I mainly stick to livejournal right now.
Anyways, life is good. We've had record breaking heat this week. I have
an interview tomorrow. I might be taking classes again this year to
build up my skills base.
That is all.

Really tired. Feet hurt so bad, but show
rocked. I will write more later, but for now, I will say that I
screamed out "Breakin' the law" and TNP was like, "Ok, that's easier
than the one we were going to do." Oh, I'm also really impressed how
Kathrine takes over for Neko. She not only covers it, she owns the part.
Belle and Sebastian rocked too, even though elzbthpdx
and I lost each other. Was hoping they would do "Le Pastie De la..."
but they didn't. Didn't really expect them too either - considering
they haven't been playing it this tour thus far. But wow, such an
experience.
Ok, more later.

Anywho, yeah, it rocked! I love both bands so much.
In other news, I didn't get the job. GRRRR!!!!

If you guessed "Seeing the New
Pornographers and Belle and Sebastian in a night of sheer musical
bliss," you guessed correctly. I might even have a new job by then - I
have an interview tomorrow!
I'm such a liar, eh?
Anyways, not much going on right now - asides from the upcoming concerts.
I got a kitten. Don't think I've mentioned that here. He was born on
December 23rd, in a washing machine!!! Anyways, here's Schroeder on a
bike...

And here he is the day I got him...
Isn't he adorable?

Oh, one other thing. My boycott of Nike is more significant. It was
kind of a joke for awhile because they didn't make shoes that fit my
feet. Well, I went shoe shopping the other day, and guess what? They
had my size (size 13, 4E width). I questioned myself - to see if I
really believed in boycotting Nike - and decided that yes, yes I want
to boycott them still. It feels good to boycott them for the right
reasons now. :)

But it's not like I don't
have my fair share of concerts to hit the next few months. Let me list
them out:

March 23rd: Belle and Sebastian, The New Pornographers
April 27th: Ladytron
May 5th: Destroyer
May 8th: Over the Rhine (maybe a eugene date somewhere in there as well).
May
27th: Sasquatch - Neko Case, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, The Shins,
Rogue Wave, Architecture in Helsinki, and a few others.
May is going to rock!

EDIT:
OH MY GOSH! Mogwai just added a Portland date - May 25th! I think I
need to start selling blood now, so I can get to all these shows in may.

Wednesday, February 01, 2006

50 days left till I bask in the music of Belle and Sebastian and the
New Pornographers!!! That's quite a while yet! It appears that Neko
will not tour with them - oh well. Might be interesting to see if they
attempt "Letter from an occupant" without her. Carl Newman says that
Kathryn can cover every note that Neko does, but that song was driven
by Neko's voice.
BTW, I don't know if it's out yet, but the new Belle and Sebastian is
worth picking up. Even though I have a copy via soulseek, I think I'm
going to get a legit copy for myself.
